Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers from 195 years of combined drivetrain experience. Don't see your question? Just call — we answer the phone.
Why does my truck vibrate at certain speeds?
Speed-related vibration is the classic sign of a driveline problem — worn U-joints, a drive shaft that's out of balance, a failing carrier bearing, or driveline angles that changed after a lift or suspension work. Tires and wheels can cause it too.
The pattern matters: sudden vs. gradual, steering wheel vs. seat, constant vs. intermittent. Tom's DriveLine 101 post walks through how we narrow it down — or call and describe what you feel. The more detail, the faster we find it.
The dealer says my drive shaft is “non-repairable.” Do I have to buy a new one?
No. Many newer vehicles come with so-called “non-repairable” drivelines, but that doesn't mean you must buy a new one from the dealer. We have solutions that make your drive shaft repairable, tougher and more reliable than the original — usually for far less than a factory replacement. More on drive shaft service →
Can you build a custom drive shaft for my lifted truck, rock crawler or hot rod?
Yes — custom fabrication is one of our specialties. Lifts, lowering, engine and transmission swaps, axle swaps, wheelbase changes: we select the correct series and tube material for your power and application, then weld and high-speed balance the finished shaft in-house. More on modifications →
How fast can you get me back on the road?
Often faster than you'd expect. We stock many assembled, ready-to-install drive shafts, and we carry the largest inventory of NEAPCO and Spicer driveline parts in the region. Call with your application and we'll tell you what's on the shelf right now.
Is your work under warranty?
Yes. All of our work is backed by a full one-year parts and labor warranty.
Do I need an appointment?
A call ahead helps us have parts and a bay ready, but walk-ins are welcome. Both shops are open Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm.

Do you work on RVs and motorhomes?
All the time — travelers on I-80 and US-50 make a point of stopping here. We service motorhome and RV drivelines of every size, and many of our thank-you notes come from RVers we got back on the road.
Do you handle mining, agricultural and industrial equipment?
Yes. Big or small, foreign or USA-built, industrial or specialty — we repair and fabricate drivelines for mining, agricultural, construction and industrial equipment across Northern Nevada. See who we serve →
Can I buy parts without having you install them?
Absolutely. We sell U-joints, yokes, carrier bearings and complete driveline components over the counter, with the largest NEAPCO and Spicer stock in the area — and free advice to make sure you get the right part the first time.
Which shop should I call — Sparks or Fallon?
Whichever is closer — both shops handle the full range of driveline work. Our Fallon shop also rebuilds automatic transmissions and is an AMSOIL dealer.
